How do I read and acknowledge an announcement?

View announcements in the Shifty app and acknowledge them after reading.

Overview

Announcements in Shifty appear in the mobile app so employees can receive important updates from their team. An announcement may include a written message, attached Shifty content, a survey, a poll, or other information.

Acknowledging an announcement confirms that the employee has seen it. If the announcement is not pinned, it is removed from the home screen after acknowledgment.

How to Read an Announcement

  1. Open the Shifty mobile app.
  2. Find the announcement on the home screen.
  3. Tap the announcement to open it.
  4. Review the message.
  5. Open any attached content, if included.
  6. Complete any survey or poll questions, if included.
  7. Tap Acknowledge when finished.

Viewing Attached Content

Announcements may include attached Shifty content, such as a recipe, resource, menu item, training shift, flashcard, or pop quiz.

Tap the attached content to open and review it.

Responding to Surveys and Polls

Some announcements may include a survey or poll.

If a survey is included:

  1. Open the announcement.
  2. Answer the survey questions.
  3. Submit the responses.

If a poll is included:

  1. Open the announcement.
  2. Select your answer.
  3. Submit the response.

Acknowledging an Announcement

After reviewing the announcement and completing any required responses, tap Acknowledge.

If the announcement is not pinned, it will no longer appear on the home screen after it is acknowledged.

If the announcement is pinned, it will stay on the home screen for reference after acknowledgment.

Things to Know

  • Announcements appear in the Shifty mobile app.
  • Announcements may include attached Shifty content.
  • Some announcements may include surveys or polls.
  • Tapping Acknowledge confirms that the announcement has been seen.
  • Non-pinned announcements are removed from the home screen after acknowledgment.
  • Pinned announcements remain on the home screen for reference.

Example

An employee receives an announcement about a new margarita recipe. The employee opens the announcement, reviews the message, taps the attached recipe, answers the survey and poll, and then taps Acknowledge.
