How do I disable employee time off requests?

Prevent users from submitting time off requests.

Overview

The Disable Employee Time Off Requests setting controls whether users can submit time off requests in Shifty.

When enabled, users will no longer be able to request time off and will need to manage conflicts by swapping shifts instead.

How to Update This Setting

  1. From the Shifty WebApp, select the dropdown menu for your location in the top left of the navigation pane

  2. Select Account

  3. Select Manage for your location

  4. Select Settings in the left sub-navigation

  5. Locate Disable Employee Time Off Requests

  6. Toggle the setting on or off

  7. Click Save

Things to Know

  • When enabled, users cannot submit new time off requests

  • Users will need to swap shifts instead of requesting time off

  • Existing or previously approved time off is not affected

  • This setting gives managers more control over schedule changes

Example

If a user is unable to work a scheduled shift, they will need to arrange a shift swap with another team member instead of submitting a time off request.
