How do I disable employee availability editing?

Prevent employees from updating their own availability.

Overview

The Disable Employee Availability Editing setting controls whether employees can update their own availability in Shifty.

When enabled, employees will no longer be able to make changes to their availability, and only managers will be able to update it.

How to Update This Setting

  1. From the Shifty WebApp, select the dropdown menu for your location in the top left of the navigation pane

  2. Select Account

  3. Select Manage for your location

  4. Select Settings in the left sub-navigation

  5. Locate Disable Employee Availability Editing

  6. Toggle the setting on or off

  7. Click Save

Things to Know

  • When enabled, employees cannot edit their own availability

  • Managers retain full control over updating employee availability

Example

If you want all availability changes to be reviewed and managed centrally, enabling this setting ensures only managers can update availability.
